Antonio Nadiani is one
of the most historical painters
of Romagna. He was
born in 1906 in
S. Arcangelo di Romagna. His father was a wealthy Romagnol landowner
and his mother came from a noble Bavarian family. Curious man and multifaceted genius,
he devoted himself to literature,
poetry, science and art. He lived for many years abroad, first in Germany and then in Oslo, in Norway to
return to Italy in 60 years. Count Nadiani then lived
in Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna and Bologna,
before going off to Ravenna in 1986. His first solo
exhibition dates back in 1930 at the House of Nadiani
Art of Bologna and it incurred in the criticism of the regime and despite an enthusiastic support that comes from the pages of the Milan magazin
"Plastic Arts", it forces the artist
to come to terms with the changed
attitude towards the avant-garde. Left Italy,
Norway is in an
open and fruitful and he soon
fits into the artistic and cultural
fabric of Oslo and began an intense exhibition
that brings in other Scandinavian countries. The success of his solo exhibition at the Gallery of the Noa-Noa Copenhagen
in 1956 marks the turning point in the
career of Nadiani. When back in Italy in
fact, his works are required for solo and group exhibitions
at the Galleria Schneider in Rome and at the Galleria De' Foscherari of Bologna, at the Totti and the Nuovo SagittarioGalleries in Milan and at the Sistina Gallery in Rome. The
Demenga Gallery in Basel even replied his solo exibithion in just one year. The last years of Antonio Nadiani are
perhaps the most prolific and
at his death, the studios of Bologna and S. Arcangelo collected a structured collection
of works that now allow you to comprehensively trace the stages of the
creative and conceptual path of
this unique artist
