Thomas Creswick (February 5, 1811 - December 28, 1869), landscape painter, was born in Sheffield, in Yorkshire.Ha studied for some time by the master John Vincent Barber. In 1828 he went to London, settling in Edmund Street, St. Pancras, with a view to achieving his studies at seventeen years of age, had managed to gain entry to two images in an exhibition of the Royal Academy, and for 30 years or so remained a constant exhibitor and benvenuto.1847, when he exhibited at the Royal Academy two works, 'England' and 'the London Road. Besides the landscapes has often changed his images introducing figures and cattle, painted by his friends and colleagues -artisti, Ansdell, Bottomley, Cooper, Elmore, Frith, Goodall, and others. Member of the Etching Club. It 'was elected an academician of the Royal Academy in 1851. It was largely an independent artist and also had success as a designer of book illustrations. In London at the International Exhibition of 1873, 109 of his paintings have been collected together, and a catalog published by Barlow, RA His works were also a conspicuous ornament of Manchester Show in 1887.
